This is an example of a case where the integration of shaft components became an issue.
The current customer's concern was that the initial design considered a method of press-fitting the push into the shaft, but it was found to be insufficiently strong, so the customer consulted with us.
In response to a specific problem, we proposed a method of cold forging the two parts into a single piece.
The key to cost reduction was the elimination of the press-fitting process when integrating the two parts, leading to process reduction.
As a result, we were able to reduce man-hours and costs by eliminating the need for press fitting while maintaining the strength initially required.
